Mr. Blackwell’s Democratic opponent, U.S. Rep. Ted Strickland, rents a residence in Lisbon and owns one in Columbus. Franklin County records show he’s always paid his property taxes there on time. A Strickland spokesman and the chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party, Chris Redfern, both tried to link Mr. Blackwell’s property tax delay with his recent decision not to open his federal income tax records for public view.
“I guess the secret’s out why Ken Blackwell refuses to release his personal tax information,” Mr. Redfern said. Added Mr. Dailey: “This certainly raises the question of whether this is the kind of thing [Mr. Blackwell] is trying to hide from voters.”
Yes it certainly it does.
Nixguy hereby renounces support for Mr. Blackwell.
Blackwell’s solid record on pro-life and economic conservative issues, notwithstanding. Nixguy is now supporting Ted Strickland. While Ted gets almost all of the big issues wrong, at least he knows to account for the variances of the US Postal System. And that’s exactly the type of thing we need in our next Governor.
Seriously, come on Toledo Blade, this is a story?
Catchy title. I almost believed it (lol). They can’t generate news so they are quoting you to create a sensation. Boy… how do the rest of us guys get in on that. Can’t wait to see your next post
Careful - when I did a title like this (”This GOP gun owner is voting for Strickland”), I spent the next two days chasing fellow SOBers , asking them to print retractions because they honestly believed I had become a Strickland man. Even Matt Naugle at the Blackwell blog read mine wrong!
Yes Chad I thought about that, but then I figured I could pick up a few lefty readers and confuse the heck out of them =P
Dave,
I’m VERY glad you were just kidding. I thought for about a minute and a half that you had taken leave of your senses.
Be careful; I visit your website daily, but when I saw the headline, I nearly deleted the bookmark before I scrolled down and realized you were joking.
