To express the sense of the Senate that General David H. Petraeus, Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq, deserves the full support of the Senate and strongly condemn personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces.

UPDATE
Openers has more including a statement from Brown:
“Senator Brown voted for the amendment defending the patriotism of all men and women in uniform, past and present, including General Petreaus, Senator Cleland, and Senator Kerry,” said a statement from Brown spokeswoman Bethany Lesser. “There were two amendments; one that condemned a special interest group, and one that condemned attacks on members of the military. Senator Brown voted to support all of our troops.”
Yes, a clever try to link an entirely separate issue. Note that to be entirely consistent with this approach, No current or former member of the military can be attacked. Ever, and apparently for any reason. But that amendment failed and in a fit of pique, 25 senators refused to go along with the narrower amendment even though they would have done so as part of a broader amendment. Gotta love politics.
Oh and don’t forget this part:
MoveOn helped Brown raise $287,623 for his election last year, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
I’m sure that had nothing to do with it.
Sherrod will do whatever his master, Harry Reid, tells him to do.
He was completely clueless last week when he was on with WTAM’s Bob Frantz, so he needs someone to tell him what to do.
I could have safely bet my house on Slippery Sherrod voting this way.
Sherrod Brown flips bird to Petraeus…

Seems I remember all kinds of a hullabaloo when John Murtha was criticized because he was “an American hero” whose opinions (i.e. lies) are beyond reproach. Apparently, it’s OK to slander and libel active military that tell good news, but not Democrat operative military. That’s unpatriotic.
