Republicans Do Impeach Dann

I must respectfully disagree with Right Runner and Darke blog here.

It’s simple.  Strickland called for the impeachment of Dann (as an ultimate threat).

Republicans control the state house and senate.  Therefore they should call Strickland’s bluff and send up articles of impeachment.  Immediately.

If someone is going to block the impeachment and keep Dann in office, let it not be the Ohio GOP.  Impeachment is serious, but it’s also a purely political process.  If the house and senate decide that Dann is worthy of impeachment, then he is worthy of impeachment, simple as that.

If the GOP saves him by wrangling over the political details, then they will look like fools trying to run against him in the fall.

UPDATE!

Articles of impeachment have been filed by the Democrats, as noted by Gary in the comments.  Hopefully this is a sign that neither side is interested in gamesmanship, just Doing The Right Thing, and get the low-class loser out of the AG slot pronto.

  1. There must be a chill in hell, because, Dave, I agree with you.

(Please don’t let that fact change your mind.)

  3. Well, I’ve been proven wrong by the Democrats. As I thought they were backing off of impeachment, they now file their articles. Since they have made the first move, I do not believe that the Republicans should stand in their way. Vote on the articles and let the Senate conduct its trial.

In October, we may very well have Lee Fisher as AG.

  4. As I said on my blog, vote on the articles of impeachment now.

Send this to the Senate tomorrow.

Dann can then mount his defense, he’s entitled to one as much as the next guy, before the Senate.
