Mike DeWine for AG?

Tip via email says that Mike DeWine is up for running for the now open Ohio Attorney General slot.  Governor Strickland will appoint a temporary Attorney General that will probably be the Democratic nominee for the slot and the permanent replacement will be elected in November, as I understand it.  Betty Montgomery would be the natural as a the former AG, but as I understand, she’s taking a pass.

A bit of a step down for a former US Senator, and while DeWine would be a huge improvement, there are a few segments of the GOP base that will not be quite so enthused, Buckeye Firearms association among them.  Something to watch.

  1. It would be a step down for deWine, but you have to think he views as a stepping stone to get back to higher office.

I am not sure about higher office again for DeWine, but I think he would make a great AG
