Blogs for John McCain has posted the CBS Palin/Couric interview. My first reaction is, that’s it? Couric shadows Palin for two days and this is all we get. An ambush question on Randy Davis (Rick Davis, whatever) who was irrelevant to the campaign as of last July. And then a couple of good questions on the bailout and that’s it.
And Sarah’s answer was as coherent as any other candidates would have been given that nobody so far has an actual answer, and that includes Obama’s non-answer and appeal to four principles that miraculously avoid any messy details.
But sheesh, there has to be at least an hour of footage somewhere, let’s see it all.
And I’d be very interested in seeing the ratings. As we all now, Katie Couric is in a death spiral, given that since she landed the anchor slot with the high $$$, the CBS Nightly News has tanked. And here she lands the best ratings draw in the politics season this year, an exclusive with Sarah Palin, and John McCain on the very same day, out of nowhere upends the campaign.
Heh.

The problem was her failing to know 1 single example of McCain’s ‘Maverick’ reform moves. You would think if your campaign was running on reform, you’d provide the VP with at least 2 bullet-points. This is a VERY AVERAGE woman.
Uh no, she was asked specific examples where McCain had asked for increased regulation, which is a lot narrower in scope.
Heck I can’t name any of the top of my head.
examples of financial regulation… Are you running for VP? No. Do I care if you know stuff about McCain? No. Do I care that the VP candidate understands anything that reporters are asking her? Yes. All her answers are canned. She tries to steer the answers toward the points she was given approval to talk about. Most of what she said was empty hot air.
“..I’ll try and get those to ya (idiot smile).”
The Liberal media continues to misrepresent Palin’s comments, actions and positions on matters. I haven’t read the transcript of the Fox interview but so far Couric continues off with the lies of Gibson. For example, Couric points out that McCain has been a chairman of the “powerful Commerce Committee”, therefore BAM! Palin respond to THAT!
Well, I don’t expect the V.P. nominee to have memorized 26 years of her running mate’s legislative action.
Couric knew that the Commerce Committee has SQUAT to do with the regulation of banking. It was an attempt, which sadly the majority of America will accept, at deception.

13. Regulation of consumer products and services, including testing related to toxic substances, other than pesticides, and except for credit, financial services, and housing.
“Uh no, she was asked specific examples where McCain had asked for increased regulation, which is a lot narrower in scope.”
That is correct. It has also been widely mischaracterized already that she couldn’t give one example…though she already gave two examples in relation to the Freddie Mack and Fannie Mae legislation McCain was a key part of in 2003 and 2006. Maybe there are no other examples of THAT SCOPE. That being said, McCain attempted to do something about the core issue of the economic crisis that we are in. Obama obviously didn’t do anything nor did Biden…so McCain os 2 -0 in this scope in realtion to Obiden.
So, if you drop the nit-picking things, here is the question.
Do you feel that Palin is qualified to be our VP and potentially our P?
I think she is reasonably intelligent, and has political potential, but she just got pulled from a pee wee league game and thrown into the big leagues.
Anyone who feels that the is ready is a staunch party loyalist- PERIOD.
And this says alot about McCain. He is a very good man who is gambling with our country in order to have a chance at being president. I am very dissappointed in him.
She is at least as qualified as Obama and is more intelligent plus with loads of common sense, something Obama apparently lacks.
Plus the balls to call corruption corruption and clean it up, something Obama never has done.
I’d like it if she wasn’t as green, but that’ll come in time and in a straight up contest of tickets, it’s really no question.
At least as intelligent as Obama? Did you watch the interview?? Katie Couric’s question was simple “Could you elaborate on YOUR OWN comment that Alaska’s proximity to Russia gives you foreign policy experience,” — no you psychotic paranoid depressed right wingers, Katie Couric was not going AFTER Palin, merely asking her to elaborate (play the tape…really!! I’ve watched it three times because it is the glorious indisputable NAIL in the COFFIN of this failed campaign) No, the media is not after Palin, the media happens to have their cameras and microphones on when she says ridiculous stupid and indefensible things. And that kid with Down’s syndrome belongs to her 17 year-old pregnant daughter…..you don’t have your water break for your FIFTH child while in Texas (giving a speech) and then board a COMMERCIAL airline (Alaska Airlines) flight to FLY seven hours home to Alaska to deliver it. (Unless it is your daughter’s kid and this is all too humiliating). Anyone who has had their water broke knows this is, unfortunately for everyone (esp. Bristol and John McCain) the TRUTH. Foreign policy expert indeed. DECEPTION EXPERT — THAT I will not argue.

What was with that “when Putin rears his head” reponse to the Alaska/Russia proximity question in relationship to her Foreign Policy experience? She even took her voice up an octave and used hand gestures like she was telling a bed time story to a toddler. This is the person a heartbeat away from the Commander and Chief? This is sad.

A.) Belabor: argue or elaborate (a subject) in excessive detail: belabor the obvious. B.) Point: an argument or idea put forward by a person in discussion: he made the point that economic regulation involves controls on pricing. Was Katie Couric making a point, or was she asking a question? Beyond the two pertinent and most recent examples of John McCain’s record as provided by Sarah Palin, was Katie eliciting information in excessive detail, belaboring a point, or just murdering the King’s English. Fact is, Ms. Couric really did want excessive detail, and Ms. Palin promised a list. So, what’s the correct answer? You’re right Katie, John is an obvious fake, and I’m totally clueless. D’oh! Sorry for not coming-out with that sooner. But it’s almost moose season; come-on up to the cabin (you can see the Kremlin from the roof), I’ve got two wonderful new moose hats for you and Charlie Gibson: http://theseedsof9-11.com
