GUADALAJARA, JALISCO (FEB/08/2012)-the Secretariat of health Jalisco confirmed two deaths, most due to influenza A H1N1 in the Western General Hospital, which added four in this year.
One of them was a woman of 52 year-old resident of Zapopan, which did not have the influenza vaccine and suffered from high blood pressure. He died on 24 January.
The second death was a man of 58 years old also of Zapopan, was registered on January 30. This person also had the vaccine and suffered from high blood pressure.
The direction of health requests the population go to nearer health units to the vaccine against influenza. The owner, Mario Marquez Amezcua, points out that “there is 85% progress in influenza vaccines;” “i.e., from 1 million 400 thousand that had as its goal, about one million 200 thousand doses have been implemented in the State”.
Health reported 163 new cases of influenza in Jalisco; of these, 15 are new influenzas and 148 of A H1N1.
In the year added 25 kind to confirmed and 222 of A H1N1, giving a total of 247.
Most of the cases are concentrated in the metropolitan area: Guadalajara have reported 130 cases; in Zapopan, 65; Tlaquepaque, 13; Tonalá, nine; Tlajomulco, eight, and El Salto, three. Out of town-affected communities are: Puerto Vallarta, with five; Ameca, two; Ayotlán and Bolaños, one respectively.
As for hospitalized, have 17 serious people, six in the Ministry of health hospitals, six in the IMSS, two in the Ministry of national defence and three in the civil hospitals of Guadalajara.
