TORONTO, Canada (07/FEB/2012)-Apple is in talks with the two largest companies of telecommunications of Canada on join in the launch of iTV, a device that combines the features of the popular Tablet iPad with a television set, a newspaper said Tuesday.     

Rogers Communications and ECB, parent of Bell Canada, already are testing the device in its laboratories, according to the Globe and Mail of Canada, citing a source not identified.     

Apple, based in Cupertino, has neither confirmed nor denied the speculations on iTV, the sector believes that it might be a new device that allows the user to buy and view contents with copyright, in line with the iTunes model.     

The Globe and Mail reported Tuesday that Apple is keen to find Canadian partners on the internet.    

“Are not looking for this or that to do so”, he told the newspaper a source familiar with the matter. “They are looking for a partner.” “They are looking for someone with a capacity of mobile and broadband”.     

Rogers and ECB offer telephone, television and Internet services to Canadian clients and both have content that would integrate an iTV service.     

Analysts believe that television is a natural next step for Apple, which has created a massive library of content to their iPads and iPhones.     

Most envisioned for the future an Apple TV that incorporates games, communication by video, distribution of content, applications, and features of a computer, all controlled by voice commands.     

Apple already sells a contents box called Apple TV that plays content available online on a conventional television and allows the Viewer to use an iPhone or any other Apple device to control it.     

Rogers and ECB spokesmen declined comment. Apple did not respond to requests for comment.
