The GRAIL mission sent a video of the hidden side of the Moon

Mexico City (FEB/05/2012)-the GRAIL mission of the American Space Agency (NASA) sent a video of the hidden side of the moon to be used by thousands of students in that country to choose areas of our satellite for study, reported the American space agency.

The images were taken within the MoonKAM project whose mission is to primary and secondary students to become involved in the analysis and research of our satellite.

The video shows a tour of North to South of the area that never looks at the Earth and only the astronauts of the Apollo program that orbit the Moon in the decades of the 1960s and 1970s could be observed directly.

One of the objectives of the GRAIL mission is to understand better why the Moon is asymmetrical and how it was formed, when making a map of the uneven course of lunar gravity that will indicate what is below the surface.

The previous lunar missions have attempted to study the lunar gravity, which is about one-sixth of the gravitational force of the Earth, with mixed results. GRAIL is the first mission dedicated to this goal.

The GRAIL probes began has orbit the Moon last January after traveling separately in September of last year.

GRAIL is the number 110 focused on the Moon Mission since the beginning of the space age including the six moon landing hoax Apollo carried 12 astronauts to the surface. Despite the attention received by the Moon, scientists do not know all about the natural satellite of the Earth.
