Federal agents seized half a million dollars in methamphetamine in Salt Lake, Utah
UTAH, United States (FEB/13/2012)-Federal agents say half a million dollars in a Mexican drug cartel methamphetamine have been seized during the weekend in Salt Lake County.
Department American anti-drug officials say they found the substance in a tire when they stopped a vehicle on Friday night on Interstate 15 near Murray. That procedure led to a community of controlled access in Emigration Canyon, where we found more smuggling.
Officials said having found weapons of high power, guns, marijuana, 11 kilograms (25 pounds) of methamphetamine and $100,000 in cash.
Frank Smith, DEA Special Agent, said that the RAID was part of an international operation with ties with both American coasts.
Smith said the operation was struck a significant blow to the Mexican cartels in Utah.
The DEA has not provided specific information on arrests in the case.
