Clashes ceased after a truce between two Muslim clans, Sunni and alawite, sponsored by the Lebanese army, said an official of the security area which requested anonymity.

“A Sunni and an Alawi died and 24 people were injured in clashes that erupted on Friday between the people from the neighborhood of Jabal Mohsen (Alawi) of Bab El Tebbaneh (Sunni) with bullet and RPG rocket fire.”

Ten military were among the injured, including a sergeant in critical condition, said. The army maintains a strong presence around the two neighborhoods.
